I am a lifelong hobbyist magician. I have done shows, but never made magic my living. I have years of experience and training that I want to share. When I was a kid, my friends and I would check out magic books from the public library and work together to figure out how to do the tricks.
Later we found a local magic store – a wonderfully old and dark shop downtown. It was a glorious adventure when we would ride the bus downtown and hang out with the old magicians in the shop (please don’t tell our parents we were there ha ha). They would show us so much great stuff. A mentorship is so important in your magical education.
With the advent of online ordering, and YouTube, we lost both the brick and mortar magic stores, and the love of the library. Yes, the libraries are still around, but now most people go to YouTube to learn things. Local magic stores are much pretty a thing of the past as well. Back in Dallas, a city of 1.5 million people, we had zero magic stores… that is not very many (I heard that one opened after I moved away, but I think it is gone now). Everything is ordered online now, and we will not get the personal instruction that I grew up with.
Any new magician will not know what they are missing by not hanging out with the old guys. Well… I am now one of the old guys.
So this website, and the associated YouTube channel are meant to be a place for learning magic. It is NOT a magic reveal site or channel.
